Windows account lookup

NSL is doing an account lookup to map the user account to the "security ID" for purposes of windows access control. For some reason that lookup is not returning a user account it is returning a different account type (machine, group, domain) or perhaps failing

BUILTIN\BUILTIN appears to be what Microsoft is using for the event viewer in this situation for some unknown reason.

If you wanted to further debug you could try the following:


Goto Windows Control Panel/System/Advanced/Environment Variables/System Variables

add DEBUG_NSL with a value of 1.

Reboot and have the user that fails log in. Once logged in look for:

nsl.log - this file is placed in the temp directory as set in the system environment (defined in the following order %TMP%, %TEMP% or %WINDIR%)

and provide that file. It is important to note that this is a system variable not a user variable (and not Notes.ini variable).

Don't forget to turn of the DEBUG_NSL.
